SOMCAST, a licensed Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Somalia, has awarded a comprehensive contract to FONS Technology and Consultants for the design, feasibility assessment, deployment, and commissioning of an extensive Fiber Optic Metro Network. This network will cover two critical segments: A dedicated fiber optic ring connecting SOMCAST facilities at Aden Abdulle International Airport, and A broader Mogadishu metropolitan fiber ring, interconnecting SOMCAST’s branches, wireless antenna sites, and key enterprise clients. The project is a major step in enhancing SOMCAST’s service quality, data transport capacity, and operational infrastructure. The scope includes technical consulting, detailed feasibility studies, and capacity-building training for SOMCAST’s internal technical teams
