Somtel Telecommunications Company has awarded a contract to FONS Technology and Consultants for the design, implementation, and commissioning of a 135-kilometer Fiber Optic Metro Network aimed at interconnecting Somtel branches, network antennas, and key enterprise clients within the metropolitan area. The contract encompasses full project delivery including technical consulting and staff training, ensuring the network is future-ready and locally manageable. This metro fiber ring will serve as a high-capacity backbone supporting voice, data, and enterprise services, and is part of Somtel’s ongoing effort to expand its infrastructure and enhance service reliability, performance, and coverage.
