Project Description

The DARE1 Cable Landing Station Terrestrial Fiber Extension Project has been officially awarded to FONS Technology and Consultants. This contract involves the full design, feasibility assessment, implementation, and commissioning of a high-speed fiber optic network linking the DARE1 subsea cable landing point near Aden Abdulle International Airport to Somtel’s key sites, including Somtel HQ1 (Bakaro) and Somtel HQ2 (Tarepiono area). The project forms a critical segment of Somalia’s digital infrastructure, aimed at extending international broadband capacity into the national telecom backbone. FONS will deliver the project through a complete consultancy-led approach, ensuring robust technical planning, secure deployment, and capacity-building for Somtel’s internal teams
